The United States government has once again stopped after Congress and the White House failed to reach an agreement to extend federal funds, which caused a closure that has lit a heated war of words between Democrats and Republicans.
Democratic leaders have directly put responsibility for Republicans, accusing them of refusing to protect Americans from the increase in medical care costs. Former Vice President Kamala Harris, in a publication on X on Tuesday night, said: “Let me be clear: Republicans are in charge of the White House, the Chamber and the Senate. This is its closure.”
Senator Patty Murray, president of the Senate Assignments Committee, described the situation as the result of Republicans’ refusal to “negotiate with the Democrats and do their job”, while Senator Kirsten Gillibrand urged the Republican Party to “prioritize families on billionaire.”
Echoing the criticism, the representative Jamie Raskin, of the Judicial Committee of the Chamber, described the “totally avoidable” closure, and the representative of Texas, Jasmine Crockett, accused the Republicans of deliberately choosing “chaos” despite maintaining all the tools to govern effectively.
The Republicans, however, backed with force, insisting that the Democrats were to blame. In a statement about X, the legislators of the Republican party accused their rivals of “putting illegal foreigners first and hurting the working -working Americans in the process.”
Wyoming’s Senator Cynthia Lummis asked the Democrats to “stop the political games and do the right thing”, while the representative Juan Ciscomani of Arizona warned that the closure would affect the elderly, veterans, jobs and homes.

In the White House, President Donald Trump minimized the crisis, insisting that “positive things” could arise from the closure. He hinted at retaliation actions against the Democrats, declaring: “We can do things during the closure that are irreversible, which are bad for them and irreversible by them. How to cut a large number of people, cutting things they like, cutting programs they like.”
The closure, which is echoed from the dead point of December 2018 in January 2019 on the Mexican border wall of the United States, has forced a pause in some non -essential services. Essential personnel such as health workers, aviation employees, law agents and military personnel will continue working without paying.
Meanwhile, the White House website has become live with a ticking clock that marks the closure duration, accompanied by a bold legend: “Democrats have closed to the government.”
