The Ministry of Health of the State of Zamfara, through the State Board of Primary Health Care (PHCB), has claimed to reach more than 10,000 settlements with measles, rubella and vaccination against polio in the state.
This was revealed on Saturday in Gusau by the State Health Commissioner, Dr. Nafisa Mohammed Maradun, during a media dialogue with journalists in the state.
The health commissioner, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Primary Health Board, Dr. Hussaini Yakubu Anka, urged people to accept vaccines, since it is important for a healthy life.
The meeting was organized by the Board of Primary Health Care of the State of Zamfara, with the support of UNICEF, in a dialogue of strategic media with journalists, influential people in social networks and reporters in U that focus on an integrated campaign for vaccination against measles, rubel and polyomyelitis.
According to Dr. Hussaini Yakubu, one thousand two hundred (1,200) teams were deployed in the 147 rooms for successful vaccination in the state.
“We are here to tell people to accept vaccines, children should be allowed to be vaccinated, we also urge religious leaders to preach both in the mosques and in churches the importance of vaccination,” he said.
He argued that the arrangements have been completed to reach more than 10,000 settlements through the various teams.
He appreciated the complementary efforts of the partners to support the provision of the provision of quality medical care in the state.
