The Delta State Police Command has registered a series of operational successes in Asaba and its surroundings, after the coordinated operations led by intelligence by the agents of the ‘B’ division, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and the Eagle Net Special Squad (ENS).
This was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations of the Command L (PPRO), SPAFE BRIGHT.
According to the statement, on October 1, 2025, the Division Police officer (DPO) ‘B’ Division Asaba, CSP EdeWor Akponegware, directed his surveillance team in a quick response to a relief call on a robbery incident for two suspects of men.

“Working with local guards, the team established a discreet cord and began a methodical sweep of adjacent streets. The coordinated effort was worth it when the officers intercepted a suspect, Amara Nwako (21), an Oko indigenous, while her accomplice fled an incomplete building,” the statement said.
A locally made gun was recovered during the search, and preliminary investigations revealed a possible cult affiliation that links the suspect with Arobaga’s secret cult. The arrested suspect is currently in custody, while a human hunt has been thrown for the complicit who flees.
In an operation separated on October 2, 2025, the Special Squadron agents of the Eagle Network led by Commander Sp Danyaya Yunusa, in synergy with the office of the executive assistant of the Governor of the State of Delta in Illicit Drugs and Traffic of Humanis intercepted a truck with the registration number 3BGT 18Lg promoted by a Dennis Uruma (52) of Igalamela Lga.
A truck search produced large amounts of illicit drug suspicions, which led to the driver’s arrest. It is said that the counting and measurement of the seized exhibitions are ongoing.
In another development, on October 3, 2025, the agents of the fast response team (RRS), directed by the commander CSP NOSA Alex, who acted on credible intelligence, raided an alleged criminal hiding place around the area of ​​the Asaba basket market.
During the operation, three suspects, Rabbi Godwin (25), Lucky Nanakumo (20) and David Igwe (19), were arrested. A search in the location led to the recovery of a manufactured Beretta gun, which was secured as evidence. The suspects remain in custody as researchers intensify efforts to stop additional gang members and recover more weapons.
The police commissioner, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, reiterated the zero tolerance of the command for violent crimes, bodybuilding, armed hand and drug trafficking in the state.
He urged residents to remain attentive and to continue sharing timely and credible information to help the police better serve the public.
“The command will continue working with relevant agencies and community partners to dismantle criminal networks, recover weapons and interrupt drug supply lines,” said CP Abaniwond.
