Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy and brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has been granted bail.
This was revealed in a video clip that went viral on social networks this Monday.
Footage showed Sammy leaving the courtroom alongside his mother, Rita Daniels, and Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, among others, shortly after bail was granted.
The development comes days after the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command charged Sammy for alleged criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, assault, intimidation and robbery.
In a statement on Friday, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said the case followed a petition received by the FCT Metropolitan Area Command on October 28, 2025, against Ojeogwu and three others.
She said: “On October 28, 2025, the FCT Metropolitan Area Command received a petition against Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu and three others, alleging criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, assault, criminal intimidation, robbery and cyber harassment.”
Adeh explained that Sammy ignored multiple invitations from the police before being arrested in Lagos and taken to Abuja for questioning.
“Upon receipt of the petition, the Metropolitan Area Command extended several invitations to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu for questioning, which were not heeded. Mr. Ojeogwu was arrested in Lagos on the authority of an arrest warrant duly issued by a competent court and subsequently transferred to Abuja for further investigation.”
He noted that upon completion of investigations, Ojeogwu was arraigned before a competent court in Abuja on November 6, 2025.
“Upon completion of investigations, the suspect was charged in court on November 6, 2025 with offenses ranging from criminal conspiracy, housebreaking, assault, criminal intimidation and robbery. The court has remanded him in custody pending compliance with his bail conditions,” Adeh said.
The police spokesperson reaffirmed the command’s dedication to professionalism and compliance with due process, saying: “The FCT Police Command remains committed to professional policing, due process and the rule of law.”
Sammy’s arraignment comes amid heightened tension within Regina Daniels’ family. The actress recently went viral after breaking down in tears over her brother’s arrest and saying, “I’ll be back,” while lamenting her family’s struggles.
The emotional outburst came after reports of alleged marital problems with her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
She accused him of physically assaulting her, an accusation the senator has since denied, claiming his behavior was influenced by substance abuse.
