The Ogun State Government has moved to prosecute TikTok content creator, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road accidents which authorities say pose an increasing danger to the public.
In a statement issued on its official X site on Monday, the Ministry of Justice said it had ordered that Abiodun’s pending case in Sagamu be expedited to ensure his prompt appearance.
The case relates to the incident on November 1, 2025 in Sagamu, Ogun State, where Abiodun reportedly crashed into two motorcycles, leaving a driver and a female passenger seriously injured. Eyewitnesses said that he tried to flee the scene but was detained by passersby.
The statement said: “While it may be reasonable to allow accident victims to obtain compensation from people who have driven recklessly and to resolve traffic collisions as a civil offence, some road users are a special danger to society and must be held accountable under the criminal law. Mr Abiodun is one of those people.”
The government noted that at least two of Abiodun’s recent accidents had been captured on video and were “evident”, adding that his “careless return to the wheel without further care just three weeks later makes it imperative that the State intervenes to protect the public, especially as there is an organic outcry against his continued driving.”
The ministry further revealed that Abiodun was involved in another incident on November 23, 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State, a car accident that nearly hit pedestrians. “This lone car incident almost injured pedestrians, but it was due to good luck and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes,” he said.
According to the statement, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed officers to expedite the prosecution.
“Consequently, the Attorney General and Honorable Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed relevant officials to expedite action in the pending Sagamu accident case for prompt arraignment,” the statement said.
The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with law enforcement to safeguard road users, adding: “The Attorney General’s Office is working closely with the police to achieve this outcome.”
