Nigerian singer and rapper, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has sparked conversations online after declaring that Nigeria cannot achieve true greatness unless urgent attention is paid to the well-being and future of its youth.
The award-winning artist, in a heartfelt message shared on his X account on Sunday, expressed concern over the continued neglect, insecurity and limited opportunities affecting young people across the country.
He stressed that the nation’s progress depends largely on how well its young people are protected and supported.
Rema wrote: “Until they protect the youth and allow them to realize their full potential, Nigeria will never be truly great. 💔🇳🇬.”
His statement has since sparked reactions from fans and social commentators, many of whom echoed similar sentiments about the need for better policies, security and empowerment initiatives for young Nigerians.
