Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has declared that he would never support the All Progressives Congress (APC), as political tensions continue following the Osun State governorship election.
The singer made the statement in a post on X on Saturday, where he openly distanced himself from the ruling party.
“I CAN NEVER SUPPORT APC IN MY LIFE!!!”
Davido’s latest comment came shortly after he accused President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of actions he said threatened democratic principles during the ongoing elections in Osun State.
Responding to reports of security personnel being deployed for the elections, the music star alleged that efforts were being made to influence the electoral process.
“Because we are winning. They want to withdraw the police and the army! MR. PRESIDENT TINUBU! YOU ARE KILLING DEMOCRACY.”
Before making the allegation, Davido had expressed concern over the technical challenges involving the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in some polling units across the state.

The singer urged officials at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to switch to the front camera of the device whenever the main camera is not working.
He shared the advice through his X account as voting continued in different parts of Osun State.
“If your BVAS camera doesn’t work, tell the officials to use the front camera. It’s very active and fast!” he said.
The call followed reports of BVAS-related difficulties experienced during voter accreditation at some polling stations.
INEC uses the BVAS for voter accreditation through fingerprint and facial recognition technology, among other electoral responsibilities.
Davido has been outspoken about the developments surrounding the governorship election. In the days leading up to the elections, he also urged local and international election observers to pay close attention to the development of the elections.
