Popular Nigerian content creator and live streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has threatened legal action against a man who publicly claimed that he used traditional spiritual means to help him become famous.
The controversy began after a video of the man, who described himself as a traditional spiritual practitioner, went viral on social media. In the video, he alleges that Peller visited his sanctuary more than three years ago seeking help to succeed.
The man further claimed that Peller was desperate for fame at the time and that he performed spiritual rituals that later contributed to the content creator’s rise in popularity. He accused Peller of abandoning him after achieving success and failing to honor what he described as an agreement between them.
He also issued warnings to the social media star, insisting that Peller should come back and “do the right thing.”
However, Peller has strongly denied the allegations, describing them as false and accusing the man of using his name to attract attention online.

In a video reacting to the controversy, Peller warned that the matter could have legal consequences and said the man should be prepared to face authorities over the claims.
Peller also alleged that the man’s social media following grew rapidly after the video went viral. According to him, the man had about 4,000 followers before the controversy, but later gained tens of thousands of followers as public interest in the allegations increased.
The content creator further accused the man of allegedly taking advantage of viral attention to collect money from people who believed his claims, an allegation that has not been independently verified.
Peller expressed concern that some social media users appeared to be taking the spiritual claims seriously, despite repeatedly denying the allegations. He maintained that his rise as a content creator was not related to any traditional man-made rituals.
The controversy has since sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some users questioning the credibility of the original claims while others debated Peller’s strong response and the threat of legal action.
At the time of filing, the man’s allegations remain unverified, while Peller has publicly rejected any claims that traditional spiritual practices played a role in his rise to fame. The dispute continues to spark online conversations about the dangers of unverified allegations and the growing influence of viral claims on social media.
