The Arewa Advisory Forum (ACF) has condemned the murder of wedding guests traveling through Mangun, local government government of the State of Plateau.
In a statement issued by ACF national advertising, Professor Muhammad Tukur Baba on Monday, “ACF deeply cries the dead and unequivocally condemns the tragic attack. Perhaps, as suggested in an initial visceral insinuation by an official of the State Government of Plateau, the wedding party was unfortunate to be in the wrong place and time.
“Again I was terrified to receive the tragic loss of 13 lives, including women and children, sequel to an attack on a bus that transported guests at the wedding and passed through Mangun, local government of Mangu of the State of Plateau, on the night of June 20, 2025.
“However, the testimonies of the survivors clearly indicate a deliberate thirsty mission of blood by the perpetrators. In addition, the testimony of a survivor as told to Governor Uba Sani was very clear: the victims were attacked because of their perceived religious identities.
“No one should be deceived by the source of the problem; and the inconvenient truth about them must face if the country expects, as it should, the remedies to tragedies. The episodic path and the murder of innocent travelers in the state of plateau, based on perceived ethno-religious identities, have been continuing for a considerable time.
“Obviously, many of these incidents have not been reported or suppressed by the national and international press equally. The atrocious murder of more than 26 travelers, which returns from a religious meeting in Bauchi on August 14, 2021 was not forgotten, since the murder of a high -ranking army officer, in similar circumstances, in September 3, 2018, has not forgotten the mind.
“In fact, research on the murder of the military whose body was found on October 31, 2018 had unearthed evidence of many travelers to and from places like Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa and other states while they were in transit on roads and roads in plateau states, they had suffered similar destinations.
“The Mangun incident provides the opportunity to initiate an action to stop unnecessary murders. The promise of the state of Plateau to occupy the tragedy of the hose itself does not inspire. The alleged murderers of the deceased general, whose government the government of the plateau insisted on handling the management even, rather, in advance, the federal government must insist on handling the necessary investigations and the necessary actions necessary
“The governor of the state of Kaduna, Senator Uba Sani, Amnesty International and others, have requested investigations, in which ACF aspects host the promise of Caleb MUftwang, governor of the state of Plateau to fish the attackers for prosecution (22 people are already detained), but this must be carried out by a federal non -partisan federal outfit (s) of the security of the first.
“It is not only travelers, but the economy, as well as intergroup relations in the state of plateau, which suffer the negative consequences of high -road/road attacks.
“For the umpteenth time, ACF draws the attention of governments at all levels to the fast deterioration security in Arewa's communities and other parts of Nigeria.
“The Matar Juergas must stop without resorting to obsolete denials, discussion, mistake and deceptive arrogance of having control, as often, the insecurity of federal security agencies remains a powerful existential threat to national security, unity, social cohesion and the construction of the nation and the fight against it must involve everyone and everything.”
