The Nigerian reality television star Natasha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has lit a fierce debate in line with its claim that a number of Nigerians residing in the United Kingdom (United Kingdom) are financially fighting, contrary to generalized perceptions of prosperity abroad.
“You see those of you who always have an inferiority complex in Nigeria, thinking that everyone here is rich, most people here are bankrupt,” Tacha said in the video.
In a viral video, the former companion of Big Brother Naija, who currently lives in the United Kingdom, while the Nigerians in the United Kingdom also fought that “the most banks I've met are actually the people I met in the United Kingdom. They all keep themselves. It is expensive.”
Tacha attributed financial difficulties to the growing cost of living in the United Kingdom, an important factor that makes life challenging for immigrants.
The reality show shows urged the Nigerians to contemplate the relocation to the United Kingdom to do so with a clear and realistic understanding of the substantial financial pressures involved.
Tacha warned against moving with an unrealistic mentality of “Oh, everything is pink”, citing examples of exorbitant daily expenses.
The star emphasized that reality on the ground is far from the “pink” image often imagined by those at home.
She said: “You see those of you who always have an inferiority complex in Nigeria, thinking that all those who are rich here are rich, most people here are bankrupt. The most banks I've met are actually the people I met in the United Kingdom. Everyone keeps themselves. It is expensive.”
“Trust me when I tell you that the life situation is not pink here. In fact, most people in Nigeria live better than people who really live here,” he added.
“You see yourself spending 300k on a damn taxi on a cursed day, 1 million in a car in a week unless you want to use the train. Think about your decision,” said Tacha.
