Actor Sule Suebebe dies at 68

Veteran Yoruba actor Dayo Adewunmi, popularly known as Sule Suebebe, has died.

He was 68 years old.

The announcement of his death came from Pastor Ademola Amusan, a well-known Ibadan-based cleric, also known as Agbala Gabriel.

Suebebe died on Democracy Day on Wednesday morning at an undisclosed hospital in Ibadan, Oyo State, where Gabriel had cared for him for months. The cause of his death is unknown.

Sharing the news of Suebebe’s death on Facebook, Mr Gabriel wrote: “It’s a shame, Baba Suebebe died in hospital this morning. May his sweet soul rest in perfect peace.”

PREMIUM TIMES reported on July 10, 2023 that the Yoruba actor apologized to Nigerians for his “irresponsible” lifestyle when he was younger and asked for financial help to pay his medical bills.

In a Facebook Live, the star actor, who was battling health issues, said: “I was just living life recklessly. I dedicated myself to minor activities and made money constantly. However, I didn’t have a mentor to warn me about my lifestyle. None of my relatives advised me. Then I saw myself as the Don.

“So, Nigerians, please. Anyone you have hurt, knowingly or unknowingly. Please forgive me. I should prostrate myself begging, but my health does not allow it. Please forgive me, especially all the women I have offended. I know that I have intervened on the issue of women.”

To support the actor, Gabriel gifted him a house in 2023 and Nigerians supported him financially.

The Ekiti actor appeared in over 100 films, gaining recognition, particularly for his performances in “Suku Suku Bam Bam” (2004), “Suku Suku Bam Bam 2” (2004) and “Ago Kan Oru” (2003). .

In addition to his acting career, he was an MC and television host, and also ran a YouTube channel called Suebebe.
