All youths, women and leaders of the Progressive Congress (APC) in the 33 local government areas of Oyo State on Saturday benefited from the N100 million economic relief fund of the Minister of Energy, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, through his Bayo Adelabu Foundation (BAF).
Adelabu, a 2027 governorship aspirant under the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, assured members of the party and residents of the state that he is ready to serve.
Speaking at the event, Adelabu said the party and residents of the state will receive more empowerment when the party returns to power in 2027.
The Minister, who described the PDP as tenant of the Agodi Government House, noted that APC would take its rightful position in the state in 2027.
He said: “Oyo belongs to the progressives, we are the owners, we will return to Agodi Government House in 2027.”
He, however, urged the party members to unite with each other at the district, local government and state levels so that the party can win the state governorship election in 2027.
Guest lecturer at the event, Dr. Stephen Lafenwa of the Department of Political Science, University of Ibadan (UI), said any political party that invests in youth, women and leaders will always emerge victorious.
According to him, no political party can gain the trust of the public without empowering its youth, women and leaders, commending APC in the state for prioritizing the welfare of its members across the state.
However, he urged the beneficiaries of the empowerment to use it wisely to alleviate their sufferings.
Earlier in his welcome address, the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Olaide Abass, said the party is happy that Adelabu has always accompanied it in all its activities, saying that Adelabu holds the party in high esteem.
The APC Chairman, represented by the party Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, said the party is proud of Adelabu because now the entire state knows that APC has bounced back through the Minister.
He said: “You are a representative of the State in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we can boldly say that you represented us very well and we are proud of you.”
Dignitaries at the event include a younger brother of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi, the state woman leader, Alhaja Tinuade Adigun, Hon. Yemi Aderibigbe, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi and Alhaji Wale Sanusi, among others.
