Veteran Fuji musician, Saliuokeola Adewale Ayuba, will release a new five-track album titled Arise on September 19, marking what he describes as the beginning of a new chapter in his music career.
Ayuba announced the project in Lagos and revealed that the upcoming album represents a continuation of her long musical journey while also reflecting her culture and experiences.
The Bonsue Fuji singer remains one of the notable figures in Nigerian Fuji music, having built a career that has spanned several decades and earned him recognition across generations.
According to the artist, Arise is a project he has been working on for almost a year and aims to celebrate his journey, culture and evolution as a musician.
The five-track project is expected to combine Ayuba’s established Fuji sound with elements that reflect her continued musical development.
The album comes at a time when Nigerian music continues to see strong interest in indigenous sounds, with Fuji, Highlife and other traditional genres finding new audiences among younger listeners.

Ayuba’s decision to launch a new project therefore comes with the opportunity to introduce her sound to a new generation while retaining the musical identity that has defined her career.
The veteran musician has previously released several notable works and has remained active through performing and recording despite his long career in the industry.
Arise’s announcement has also generated interest among Fuji enthusiasts, particularly those who have followed Ayuba’s career since its inception.
With its September 19 release date approaching, attention will now turn to the five-track project and whether it will further demonstrate Ayuba’s ability to remain relevant in Nigeria’s rapidly changing music landscape.
