His Imperial Majesty Alayeluwa Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ọ̀ọni Adeyẹ́yẹ̀ Ẹnitan Bàbátunde Ògúnwusi Ọjàjà II, Ooni of Ife, has assured Nigerians that those arrested during the ENDSARS protests will be released.

Revealing this through his Twitter account, Ooni said: “To the men and women of the Nigerian police, rest assured that this movement is also for you, we know that you are also human and your reality is the result of your environment.

“I have been informed of many innocent souls who were arrested and are currently in detention, please be assured that I go ahead with the matter and they will be released.

“The #ENDSARS movement has brought me nothing but joy. Finally, young people are awake, with one voice and a common goal.

“This movement demands more on your behalf and aims to pressure the government to do better for you and raise your standard of living. Don’t chase your defenders.

God bless the Nigerian youth and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY ”.
