The Kwara State district congresses of the All Progressives Congress, APC, will be held on Saturday despite rumors that the exercise has been postponed.
A statement by party spokesman Tajudeen Aro in Ilorin on Saturday asked party members to ignore the rumor of suspension of the exercise in Kwara and two other states, calling it false and malicious.
“We wish to state categorically without fear that ward congresses will be held in the state of Kwara simultaneously with other states in the country today as scheduled.
“We are aware of the source of the discredited content and we are not willing to beat up a man who is already depressed.
The spokesman urged the public and, more importantly, the party faithful to ignore the rumor and participate in neighborhood congresses.
“It would be charitable for the diehard few to join the moving train with their followers rather than indulge in this shameless act using a free online urchin to amplify such falsehood,” he said.
