By-elections arising from pending votes for several legislative positions in the 2023 General Election are scheduled for Saturday.

These elections, covering a wide range of electoral units and a few electoral districts, will be the last effort of the respective voters in the affected electoral districts to conclude their right to vote in the last General Elections.

I appeal to the voters of Ebonyi South Senatorial District to give their unconditional support to Barrister Silas Onu and in doing so, vote for the Peoples Democratic Party in the by-elections on Saturday. The people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District, the Senate and indeed Nigeria will benefit from the many skills of Silas Onu and the vitality of his youth.

My appeal goes beyond Ebonyi State and connects with voters in the 35 constituencies and nine states affected by court-ordered by-elections.

I hope that the voters of these states, which include Ebonyi, Yobe, Borno, Kaduna, Benue, Ondo, Taraba, Lagos and Kebbi, will make a bold statement in the upcoming elections by putting a stamp of rejection on the ruling All Congress. Progressives. for having made insecurity and impoverishment a State policy in all the affected areas.

Our country is on the cusp of a new beginning, and the decisions voters make in Saturday’s election will determine how prepared we are, as a people, to spark the march toward economic and national recovery.

I would also like to advocate for a peaceful election this Saturday and urge the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to use the opportunity of these by-elections to redeem itself from the fraudulent and chaotic 2023 elections.

I specifically want to urge the members of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party, and indeed the agents of other political parties participating in the elections, to behave in accordance with the established rules on election day. -AA
