The Emies Council of the State of Bauchi has requested the peace, unity and understanding of the movement of the state government to create emirates, cacious and additional districts.
In a circular entitled: “Plea for Peace and Order in the midst of the proposed exercise”, dated July 8, 2025, the Council, through its president and Emir de Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu declared that there was no reason for any confrontation with the government over the year.
The circular says: “In the light of the recent publication with respect to the previous year, we have observed a variety of comments both in support and against the initiative. It has caught the attention that there are accusations that some antipatriotic citizens plan to encourage civil disturbances to interrupt the exercise.
“We, the Traditional Council of Emies of the Bauchi State, wish to categorically affirm that the Government has the prerogative in state administration matters.
“It is imperative that all parties cooperate, respect and adhere to decisions taken by the Government in the best interest of our State.
“We sincerely allege all to maintain peace and order in all their actions. Any opinion or concern regarding the exercise must be presented to the Committee established for proper consideration.
“It is through constructive dialogue and cooperation that we can achieve progress and harmony within our community.
“Let's all work together to guarantee a peaceful and orderly environment for everyone. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
