Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has confirmed the end of her marriage to David Oyekanmi, barely a year after they officially tied the knot.
She revealed her current status on Instagram while responding to a fan who asked her about her dating life.
Queen Mercy Atang, who was one of the BBNaija housemates in 2021, legally married David in March 2024 in a well-attended ceremony.

In recent months, conversations about tensions in the marriage have emerged online after popular sketch creator Lordlamba claimed that Mercy is his baby’s mother.
He posted photos of him and his daughter, Princess Keilah, claiming that he welcomed the baby girl with the former BBNaija star. Mercy has previously confirmed that she is the child’s mother and often celebrates her daughter publicly, including during her marriage to David.
In August, reports suggested possible problems between the couple after it was seen that they had both unfollowed each other on social media. Observers also noticed that David stopped wearing his wedding ring, sparking more speculation.
The actress later confirmed the situation in response to a fan, in a now-deleted post, who asked her if she was still married while praising her looks.
One fan wrote, “Queen, I hope you are still married because Asa, you are too beautiful to be single.”
Queen responded, confirming her relationship status: “Single and unavailable.”
