Codix Bio Limited has been officially announced as the first African manufacturing partner selected by the World Health Organization (WHO), SD Biosensor and the Pool of Medicines Patents (MPP) under the WHO HEAL TECHNOLOGY ACCESS POOL (HTAP) show program.
This historical designation places Codix Bio at the forefront of regional production for rapid diagnostic test kits (RDT) in Africa, which solidifies its role as a key partner to strengthen global health safety.
The recently commissioned factory in Sagamu, state of Ogun, is now within the scope of the WHO technical support system, which allows technology transfer, regulatory assistance and sustained global collaboration.
Through the SD BIOSENSOR and MPP SUBLICENCE AGREEMENT, CODIX BIO will receive property rights, technical and material knowledge to legally develop and produce rapid diagnostic test kits based on the Vanguardia platform of SD Biosensor.
This technology allows the production of rapid multipurpose diagnoses adaptable to the periods of pandemic and interpandemics that mark a transformative milestone to increase equitable access to medical care in low and medium -income countries (LMIC).

With the implementation of this installation, Codix Bio is expanding innovation and has positioned Nigeria and the African continent for sustainable and self -sufficient health solutions.
Speaking in the commission, his excellence Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, MFR, with, executive governor of the State of Ogun, expressed pride that Ogun State is organizing such a transformative project.
“We are proud to commission the first rapid diagnostic test production (RDT) on a large scale (RDT) of Nigeria, Codix Bio Limited, or here in the state of Ogun.
Located along the SAGAMU highway, this latest generation vitro diagnostic factory is only the second of its kind in sub -Saharan Africa and will produce more than 147 million annual test kits for diseases such as HIV, malaria and hepatitis B and C.

In his main comments, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Nigeria, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, emphasized that the Commission supports the renewed hope of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“With more than 90% of the diagnostic kits used in Africa currently imported, this installation will significantly reduce our dependence on external supply chains, retain currency and create high value jobs.
This factory will help solidify Nigeria's position as a health center in the continent already worldwide. This is a leap forward for our safety of national and continental health, ”he said.
With this installation, we are not only promoting local production, but also saving currencies, creating jobs and reinforcing our public health response capacity.

The president and managing director of the Codix Pharma Group group, Mr. Sammy Ogunjimi, described the implementation as a decisive moment in Nigeria's trip towards health safety.
