Congress: Hamaza Madagali emerges president of PDP of Adamawa

Hamza Madagali has been elected as the new president of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) in the state of Adamawa in the State Congress recently completed.

Madagali was chosen without opposition during a free and fair choice held in Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, which was filled until his capacity. He received a total of 2,223 votes to ensure his position as president of the party in the state of Adamawa.

The election, held on Saturday, also saw other full party offices without opposition.

Together with Madagali and another 38 members of the Executive Committee were elected.

The election was made peacefully and was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representatives of the PDP and security agencies.

The delegates of the 21 areas of the local government of the State cast their votes for the 39 offices without opposition.

In his welcome speech, the outgoing state president of the PDP, lawyer Tahir Shehu, reminded the meeting that the possession of his Executive Committee would expire on October 6, 2025, after eight years of service. He urged members to extend their support to new officials so that the party continues to be stronger.

The Congress was chaired by the lawyer Dave Iorhemba, president of the Adamawa State Congress Committee, with more than 2,000 delegates who participated in the process.

In his comments, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri praised the good conduct of the Congress, describing it as a reflection of the Government’s success in the delivery of good governance.

“Delegates have demonstrated their happiness by choosing new party leaders for another four years. We have confidence in the new leaders; we know them, we have chosen them to guide us.

“They have experience, and we believe they will direct the party well. We are working for 2027 and, Insha Allah, we will be there. Power belongs to God, but we are ready,” said Fintiri.

The newly elected state president, Madagali, in his acceptance speech, thanked God for giving him this opportunity to serve in this capacity, expressed his gratitude to the delegates for affirming his leadership and appreciated Governor Fintiri for his orientation.

Emphasizing that “PDP will continue to be a true family, we will strengthen our structure in a more united party”

“We are proud of Governor Fintiri because the state has changed for the better. Each member will be carried.”

Saleh Mohammed Musa Shelleng is the Secretary of State, Barr. Ishaku Y. Daniel is the legal advisor, and Burature Moses serves as an auditor. Titus Samaila is the organizing secretary (South), while Victor Dogo is the Secretary of Advertising (South). Ahmadu Dahiru takes the role of treasurer (north), Suzan Zira is the woman’s leader (north), Dedan Clifford is the youth leader (south) and Jafaru Yusuf is the financial secretary (South).

Others include Kawu Abdullahi as Pro (Central) assistant, Cletus Buba Yuguda as an assistant (central) legal advisor and Fiknan Elson Dolum as an assistant financial secretary (central). Dimas Bello is an assistant auditor (South), while John Musa (North), Sani Usman Arabo (Central) and Satina Charles Yaneh (South) serve as assistant organizing secretaries. Teri Kwadma (North), Mohammed Tukur Njidda (Central) and Arnold Yahaya (South) are assistant secretaries. The women attending leaders are Haruna Mahdi Jingti (North), Aisha Tubol Uariman (Central) and Zainab Bello (South).

Youth leadership is represented by Hannaniya Asa Viyitim (Assistant Youth Leader, North), Abdulwaheb Idris Hildi (Assistant Youth Leader, Central) and Desmond Minakaro (Assistant Youth Leader, South). Assistant treasurers include Audu Buba Ngette (North), Mary T. Javan (Central) and Isaac Birdu (South).

The former officers are Yayaji Audu Gombi (North), Adamu Wazari Pakka (Central), Aminu Hammadata (South), Agnes Danladi Kwetishe (North), Douglas H. Dading (Central) and Amina Isa (South) “.
