Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the best signing in the Premier League ahead of Thierry Henry and Eric Cantona.
Ronaldo prevailed in a countdown the Transfer Show panel chose on a special program on Christmas Day.
The Portugal captain was one of four Manchester United players in the top 10 along with Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Wayne Rooney.
United signed Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon for £ 12 million in August 2003. Over six seasons at Old Trafford, he won eight major titles, including three Premier League and Champions League titles.
During a stellar career, he scored more than 750 goals, won 30 major trophies, five Ballon d’Ors and two awards for FIFA’s Best Male Player of the Year.
Thierry Henry came in second. Arsenal signed him in the summer of 1999 for £ 11 million from Juventus. Over eight seasons at Highbury, he became Invincible, winning two titles and breaking the club’s goal record.
Some star names were left off the list, including Manchester United defenders Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
