Talented Nollywood actress, Dayo Amusa, has been elected National Vice President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) during the national elections held on Saturday in Benin City, Edo State.
The election, which brought together members of the guild from across the country, was aimed at strengthening the leadership and promoting the interests of Nigerian actors.
Speaking after the announcement, Dayo Amusa said: “My elevation as National Vice President of AGN is a testament to my unwavering dedication, my leadership qualities and my long-standing commitment to the growth and integrity of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.”
This is clear from a press release signed on his behalf by his media office on Monday, December 8, 2025.
“This achievement reflects the trust placed in me by the members of the guild, and I am confident that my creativity and administrative excellence will bring renewed strength to the Secretariat and raise the operational standards of the guild.
“As I take on this important national role, my tenure will be marked by transparency, innovation and impactful service that will inspire current and future members of the Screen Actors Guild of Nigeria,” the statement added.
Dayo Amusa, who has acted in and produced several films, including the Yoruba film Dewunmi Iberu, said he plans to use his position to promote the interests of Nigerian actors and actresses.
He added that the time has come for the Nigerian film industry to take its rightful place in national development.
