The Ebonyi state government has discredited the recruitment of auxiliary nurses in the primary and secondary health centers of the State.
The health commissioner in the state Dr. Moses Ekuma, revealed this to the journalists while refuting the claim in Abakaliki.
According to him, the information was not only false but misleading and ordered the journalists to always verify the ministry before the publication, pointing out that they are ready to provide precise and updated information on the activities of the Ministry.
He then explained that the Ministry of Health does not have a plan to recruit these people, but is recruiting community -based health workers (health extension workers of the Senior Community (Squew) and workers of the Junior Community Health Extension (JCHEW), as well as community -based health workers based on the community.
The commissioner, although he pointed out that Spetews successful candidates will serve as qualified stops in primary health care centers in political rooms, he also added that community -based health workers and community attendees would work at the community level to link pregnant women and other patients with health facilities in rural areas to have easy access to health facilities.
According to him, “Spejos and nurses are qualified parratas along with doctors. They receive childbirth, handle childbirth, etc.
Ekuma, however, said that the Governor of the State of Ebonyi, his excellence, Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has an interest in the health sector and has done a lot to revitalize the system.
He then ordered the general public to ignore the information and feel free to access quality health services in health centers.
