The Deputy Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ACE I Effa Okim, on Thursday assumed duties as the new Acting Zonal Director of the Makurdi Zonal Directorate.
He replaces the EFCC Commander, CE Anselem Ozioko, who has been reassigned to head the Ilorin Zonal Directorate. The development was announced on the Commission’s official X identifier.
Okim, a certified fraud examiner and experienced anti-corruption investigator, has handled several high-profile cases and held several strategic positions including Team Leader, Advance Fee Fraud, Team Leader, Operational Studies at EFCC Academy, Karu, Head of Enhanced Service Delivery (SERVICOM) and Head of Asset Forfeiture and Recovery Management.

He is also a member of the Nigerian Institution of Property Valuers and Valuers and a member of the Compliance Institute of Nigeria, among other professional bodies.
Prior to his posting to Makurdi, Okim served as Acting Zonal Director of the Benin Zonal Directorate.
In his inaugural address to staff, Okim urged officials to uphold the values of the EFCC and maintain integrity in their duties. “We must make sacrifices and avoid corruption in all our official dealings by upholding the Commission’s core values,” he said.
