The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has said the party would end the 19-year reign of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra State in the upcoming November 8, 2025 gubernatorial election.
Yilwatda, who stated this on Friday at the All Saints Anglican Church Cathedral, Onitsha, during the party’s national gubernatorial campaign rally for its candidate, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, said APC is a messenger of hope, and he is in Anambra to deliver that message of hope.
He said: “APC will uproot APGA in the remaining eight days and 196 hours to end his reign in this state. We in APC cannot afford to allow APGA to continue ruling an important state like Anambra as an adopted son when we have our own son in the person of Ukachukwu.”
In his speech, the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, said APC, being the central party, cannot afford to lose Anambra, a state with hard-working citizens this time, adding that he would like the state to become the 25th state controlled by APC this time.
Ukachukwu, the APC gubernatorial candidate, expressed optimism that the party will soon replace “the misleading failure of APGA in the state” with high level of development in the near future.
He said: “We will soon replace insecurity, multiple taxation, corruption and non-compliance and boasting with adequate security, stable power supply, industrial development and agricultural chain.”
Imo State Governor and Chairperson of APC Governors Forum, Hope Uzodinma, has assured the electorate of the state that this time their votes must be counted.
Chief Basil Ejidike, APC State Chairman and Hon. Arinze Awogu, National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, one of the political structures of APC, in his separate comments, expressed optimism that APC would take over the Anambra Government House.
