In the attempt to facilitate an intensive economy in capital and based on knowledge built around solid minerals, agriculture and tourism development for global competitiveness, the Ekiti state government has begun plans to access the sum of N175.75 billion subsidies of the Natural Resources Development Fund (NRDF) through the assignment of income mobilization and the Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, gave this indication during a meeting with the leadership of the income mobilization allocation and the Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) directed by Amb. When addressing RMAFC officials, who were in the state to carry out a feasibility report and recommendations on the proposed subsidy of the Natural Resources Development Fund (NRDF), Governor Oyebanji reiterated the commitment of his administration to industrial and business development, as well as maintaining the State in a perpetual state of economic growth and prosperity.

Oyebanji highlighted the profits that the State tends to derive from the subsidy to include the diversification of the State’s economy and its income base, the increase in internally generated income (IGR), attracting foreign investments abroad, creating an environment allowed for the investments of the private sector to prosper, winning currencies and maintaining and maintaining food security through commercial agriculture and value agriculture.
The governor also said that his government will embark on a massive agricultural development campaign to improve food security, as well as build and invest in the tourist corridor that will be insurmountable in Nigeria.
“Ekiti is a state that is well known not only for education, but for its integrity and honor. As you know, apart from education, the following is agriculture, historically, because it uses most of our people, where our GDP also derives more than half, as of today, from this component.

Previously, the leader of the delegation, Amb. Desmond Akawor revealed that the commission received the state government application to access N172.75 billion from the development fund and natural resources for development projects in the State.
