Kano’s emir, Muhammad Lick Sanusi II, has praised the British government and the British people for the high level of tolerance, maturity and diversity demonstrated by allowing people of different religions to prosper in peace and harmony in the United Kingdom (United Kingdom).
The venerated monarch gave the recommendation in London at an international conference and an event of fundraising for the reconstruction of the Old Kent Road Mosque and the Islamic Cultural Center, with the theme: “The mosque as a lighthouse of light: Promote positive integration for a brighter future”, held in the Mosque of Eastern London, 82–92 Whitechapel Road and organized by the association Muslim by Nigeria Uk (Many).
Emir Sanusi, in his initial speech as president of the event, congratulated the brothers and sisters of the Muslim Association of Nigeria United Kingdom (Man UK) for his vision of hope for the Muslim Ummah and humanity in the global space of London.
He said that the British government and the citizens of the United Kingdom had shown the Muslim Ummah what Islam represents as a religion of peace, creating an enabling environment for diversity, tolerance, love, respect and harmonious coexistence, regardless of religion or race.

“This mosque is built in the true spirit of how the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Vio) ordered us to build mosques in the heart of the communities where people of different nationalities gather. The vice governor of the state of Lagos, Obafemi Hamzat, who is the special guest of honor, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to the Muslim brothers and sisters for the Old Kent Road Mezque Project, even when he also thanked the organizers, the Muslim Association of Nigeria United Kingdom (Man UK), for assembling the program.

Hamzat emphasized that in the last three decades, Kent Road’s old mosque had become a place of worship for Nigerian and other Muslims in London, but also a lighthouse of hope, unity and social interaction in the heart of the city.

Also speaking, the spelling speaker at the event, registrar of the Joint of Admissions and Joint Registrations of Nigeria (Jamb), Prof. Ishaq Olayede, represented by Dr. Hassan Oloyede, also congratulated the Muslim Association of Nigeria United Kingdom (United Kingdom Man) of the vision of the former Kent Road Mezquea and the Islamic Cultural Center of London.

He recommended Koranic and Arab classes for children, studying circles (halaqas) for young people and adults on Islamic jurisprudence, theology and history, as well as pre-marital and family advice, saying that in doing so, the mosque would continue to be the main source of authentic religious knowledge, while protecting the community from ignorance and mission.
Previously, the main host and president of the United Kingdom Muslim Association (Man UK), Alhaji Abdul Jeleel Oladejo, also welcomed everyone to the historical meeting.
Oladejo also pointed out that the mosque is not only a structure, but a legacy of transformation, emphasizing that the Old Kent Road Mosque Project was about building a future where children can prosper, young people can find a purpose, the elders feel honored and the whole community is of spiritual and socially elevation for elevation for the good of Allah, with benefits in this life and in the bearing.
