Employment creation: Kwara Govt Partners Creative Industries to nurture young talents

Professionals in creative industries in the state of Kwara, in association with the state government, have launched an initiative to nurture young creatives in the state, labeling Kwara Kre8.

According to the organizers of the initiative, led by Adebisi Oyelere, the project, which pretends the creative industry of Nigeria: opportunities, challenges and ethical considerations, will prioritize photographers, filmmakers, influencers of social networks, content creators, storytelling narrators, among others.

Oyele said that the program will focus on creative professionals who take advantage of the digital space for the exhibition, with emphasis on promoting culture, creativity and talent of Kwara's state worldwide.

Scheduled for June 19 in Ilorin's innovation hub, the statement said that the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economics, Barríster Hannatu Musawa, will attend the maiden edition of Kwara Kre8.

He also declared that the event will feature main speakers, including Hannatu Musa Musawa; Special Assistant on Arts, Culture and Creative Economics for the President, Ayo Adeagbo; President Bola Tinubu's special assistant about the development of capacity, Sadiq Rabiu; and the personal photographer of former President Muhammadu Buhari, Bayo Omoboriowo, among others.

According to the declaration, the program is in association with the Kwara state government to train participants with skills, knowledge and network opportunities to excel in their creative activities.

“It will also equip them with skills and experience relevant to the industry, will provide tutoring and guidance of experienced professionals, facilitate network opportunities with the interested parties of the industry and exhibit talents and work from the participants and work at a broader audience.”
