Eye said the road is now safe for motorists and other road users after the restoration of washing.

“There is a serious washing that occurred last year in October at kilometer 8+500 in the location of the bridge, a long bridge along Enugu/Abakaliki Road.

“The washing occurred as a result of strong floods that invaded the carriage with a very large hole that raised the danger for travelers.

“We could not attend it last year because the water level was high. So, we hope when the water embedded this year. So, we have restored the washing and now it is motorizable and safe for the road users,” he said.

He urged motorists to reduce speed always when approaching a bridge to avoid traffic accidents.

He pointed out that some bridges are narrower than the width of the road, which requires caution by road users.
