The Renewed Hope initiative, which aims to improve the livelihoods and promote national development, was carried out by the Renewed Hope (RHI) initiative in association with the president's special assistant office on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).

A statement by Héctor Igbikowubo, Senior Special Advissr (Media) to the Rivers State Administrator said that, according to the first lady, the scheme has already been completed in the northern central zone, with the event of the state of Rivers that marked its conclusion in the South-South region.

“These tools are designed to help our women establish and grow successful businesses, contributing to the prosperity of the nation,” he said. “This program reflects the renewed hope of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes economic growth and sustainable development, particularly for women.”

He added that he further highlighted the alignment of the initiative with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG-5 (gender equality) and SDG-8 (decent work and economic growth).

For her part, Princess Adejoke Ollope-Defulire, a special senior assistant of the president in ODS, emphasized the need for women to participate in productive companies amid the current economic challenges.

She declared that the program was designed to boost inclusive growth through strategic associations while adding poverty and hunger.

Mrs. Tonyye Oniyinde-Briggs, coordinator of the state of the state of Rivers, explained that the 500 beneficiaries were selected from the 23 areas of the local government and encouraged them to use the items effectively, either to launch new companies or expand the existing ones, to maximize the impact of the program.

The empowerment initiative reinforces the federal government's commitment to build women and promote economic resilience in Nigeria.
