Some women in the state of Rivers organized on Friday a strike of the wife of the administrator of the state of Rivers, Dr. Theresa were, choosing to miss the program of empowerment of livelihoods by the wife of President Mrs. Sra. Remi Tinubu.
The incident took place at the EUI Event Center, Port Harcourt, where Dr. you had come to represent the president's wife in the renewed Hope empowerment program for 500 women in the state of Rivers.

The program, which was organized in conjunction with wives of governors of the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, intended to empower 500 women of rivers with life and effective means for new companies.
Last year's edition was headed by the wife of the now suspended governor of the state of Rivers, Mrs. Valerie Fubara, who represented the president's wife.
A viral video clip of the incident showed dozens of women who protested that Mrs. were not the first lady of the state of Rivers and should not go to them.

Speaking to journalists, one of the women, Ekpeye favor, said that his complaint was not with Mrs. Remi Tinubu, saying: “They told us that we left and welcome Senator Remà tinibu and we dressed. My double rapper. We wear shirts with her and the first lady printed on the shirts.
“We were very happy to welcome their excellence because we appreciate their good will with us and the empowerment program. Only to be approached by someone who claims to be our first lady in this state. And women could not sit and see what such things happened. So they stood up and left.

The Renewed Hope initiative, which aims to improve the livelihoods and promote national development, was carried out by the Renewed Hope (RHI) initiative in association with the president's special assistant office on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).
A statement by Héctor Igbikowubo, Senior Special Advissr (Media) to the Rivers State Administrator said that, according to the first lady, the scheme has already been completed in the northern central zone, with the event of the state of Rivers that marked its conclusion in the South-South region.
“These tools are designed to help our women establish and grow successful businesses, contributing to the prosperity of the nation,” he said. “This program reflects the renewed hope of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which prioritizes economic growth and sustainable development, particularly for women.”
He added that he further highlighted the alignment of the initiative with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), particularly SDG-5 (gender equality) and SDG-8 (decent work and economic growth).
For her part, Princess Adejoke Ollope-Defulire, a special senior assistant of the president in ODS, emphasized the need for women to participate in productive companies amid the current economic challenges.
She declared that the program was designed to boost inclusive growth through strategic associations while adding poverty and hunger.
Mrs. Tonyye Oniyinde-Briggs, coordinator of the state of the state of Rivers, explained that the 500 beneficiaries were selected from the 23 areas of the local government and encouraged them to use the items effectively, either to launch new companies or expand the existing ones, to maximize the impact of the program.
The empowerment initiative reinforces the federal government's commitment to build women and promote economic resilience in Nigeria.
