The Federal University of Technology, Minna (Fut Minna), in association with Suites and Hotel, has officially commissioned the Alewa canteen, a new food and hospitality center designed to improve the quality of the studies and the life personnel of the campus.

The start -up ceremony, held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, on the main campus, marked a significant milestone in the impulse of the university to provide quality comforts.

Suites and Hotel shelter, owned by the estimated family of Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Aliyu, La Sardauna Minna, financed and executed the project.

The canteen was formally commissioned by Hajiya Zainab Mohammed, general manager of Niger State Tourism Corporation, who praised the project as a positive positivation to the development of the State and provided the Aliyu family for its forgiving service.

In his comments, the vice chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, expressed his sincere stinker to the Aliyu family for his consistent support for the development initiatives of the university.

“Alhaji’s family (Dr.) Ibrahim Aliyu has a Pilar to support FUT, Minna during the years. This canteen project is attestation to its unwavering commitment to the growth of our institution,” said Professor Kuta.

He highlighted the challenges faced by staff and students to access quality food due to the distance of the campus from the city of Minna and emphasized that Alewa’s canteen aligns with the mission of Fut Minna to promote local solutions and sustainable development.

Speaking in the name of Shelter Suites andhotel, the CEO, Hajiya Maryam Ibrahimaliyu, expressed his appreciation for execution with the university.

“We are honored to be part of this achievement after more than 18 months of planning and construction, we are delighted to see that Alewa sing life. We seek to officially declare the operation in the position and provide quality meals to the community of the university,” he said.

The director of Physical Planning and Development, QS Aisha Mohammed, provided a breakdown of the functions of the facilities. These include the main dining room, the bathrooms, the five personnel offices and the exterior stores, such as a Shawarma, Suypot and a ship room.

In his vote of thanks, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahimohammed, described the project as an update of a hall for the life of the campus, emphasizing its local crafts and community impact.

Previously in the case, the Dean of Studentsfafires, Prof. Bashir Ganiyu, welcome to the attentive and praised the shelter suites for their vision and capacity to respond to the needs of the students.

The dignitaries present included Embassadorzubairu Dada, former Minister of Affairs for For Foreforeign, Alhaji Bullet Mohammed of the Niger State Supply Company and a nearby associate of Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Aliyu, university management staff; students and members.
