Former Libyan Star Criticizes European Media for Backing Nigeria’s Super Eagles

Must Read

Moatasem Al-Musrati, who used to play midfield for Libya, spoke out against European news channels. He feels they told the story of the problems faced by the Super Eagles in Libya unfairly.

When the Super Eagles arrived in Libya on Sunday for a big soccer match in 2025, things did not go well. The Libyan officials treated them badly when they got there. This was for an important Africa Cup of Nations game.

After they landed at Al Abaq Airport, the team had to wait for a long time before they could go back to Nigeria on Monday evening. Imagine waiting for hours and hours at the airport. It wasn’t fun for them at all!

Al-Musrati used his Facebook page to say that many news places in Europe didn’t tell the full story. They missed some important parts and this can make people misunderstand what really happened.

He also said that when the Libyan players came to Nigeria, landing in Uyo through Port Harcourt a week before, they too were not treated nicely.

The soccer match that everyone was excited for had to be pushed to another time by CAF (the organizers). So, the game wasn’t going to happen tonight like everyone thought.
