Popular gospel singer, Akinade “Gaise Baba” Ibuoye, topped the YouTube music chart of 2025, beating Afrobeats artistes like Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid; David Adeleke aka Davido; and Crown Uzama, known professionally as Shallipopi.

This is according to YouTube’s 2025 Nigeria Year in Review on Wednesday, which shows who topped the country’s creator and music rankings and how Nigerians spent much of their viewing time this year.
The data revealed that gospel singer Gaise Baba topped the music chart while actress Omoni Oboli emerged as the top creator.
The announcement came in a statement signed by Addy Awofisayo, YouTube’s head of music for sub-Saharan Africa.
“No Turning Back II” by Gaise Baba, featuring Lawrence Oyor, was the most viewed music video in Nigeria in 2025. Released on May 16, the video garnered over 41 million views in six months.
The full rankings also showed Oboli at the top of the creators category, with filmmakers, comedians and content companies making up the rest of the list.
