Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji will resume his official duties on Monday, September 7, 2026, after completing his two-week annual leave.
The governor had announced the start of the annual vacation two weeks earlier in order to prepare for the second term.
The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, in a statement on Sunday, said the two-week leave was part of the governor’s statutory annual leave entitlement.

The statement added that, “However, while on leave, Governor Oyebanji dealt with crucial matters relating to the governance and administration of the State.
“The Governor is resuming his activities with renewed vigor as preparations for the start of his second term gain momentum.”
Governor Oyebanji will assume a second term on October 16 following his victory during the June 20 gubernatorial election in Ekiti..
