Founder and Owner of Mayor Beauty Place (MBP) in London and Nigeria, Mrs. Mayowa Otakoya has expressed her willingness to eradicate the mentality of bleaching skin in order to shine.
Mayowa noted that someone can still be a person of a different color and still look good; Therefore, he stated that his company is in a research effort to create products for that purpose.
Speaking about simple beauty tips, the MBP founder recommended people drink plenty of water, saying it detoxifies the body with a transformative effect on the skin rather than just health benefits.
“I’m a color advocate. We want to eradicate the mentality of bleaching your skin for the purpose of glowing. That way, you can still be someone of a different color and still look amazing.
“The goal is to launch our own skincare line on a larger scale. People should expect us to offer solutions for pigmentation and skin problems.
“We deal with different people every day and we know their concerns.
“Simple beauty tips that can make a difference in a person’s appearance are drinking water regularly.
“People think water is just for health purposes, but it does a lot for your skin and flushes out toxins from your body.” She said.
Referring to how she started the beauty business, the founder said the business started in Nigeria as a result of her mother’s passion and advice on acquiring skills.
Consequently, Otakoya said that the skill became useful to her after being admitted to the university to the extent that she was nourished by it without resorting to provision from her parents.
“I started Mayor Beauty Place very far from Nigeria and it is a product of my passion.
“When I finished high school and was struggling to get admission, my mother suggested I try a skill.
“That’s how I learned to do Nails and Lashes.
“When I went to university, I started to have a lot of clients and that helped me pay my bills back then.” She said.
