‘It Ends With Us’ Achieves N64.6M, Becoming 2024’s Top-Grossing Hollywood Romance

The Hollywood movie “It Ends With Us” is doing really well in Nigeria! It has made N64.6 million at the Nigerian box office, and it’s the top Hollywood love story of 2024.

This movie, shared by FilmOne, is exciting people and they’re saying, “Go to the cinema and fall in love again!” They shared this suggestion on a platform called X, which used to be Twitter.

The movie was directed by Justin Baldoni and came out on August 9, 2024. The story is based on a book by Colleen Hoover that many people love. It follows a lady named Lily, who wants to have a happy life even though she had a tough childhood.

Lily meets a nice doctor, and they start to like each other. But soon, things get a bit complicated. She notices some bad signs in their relationship that remind her of her parents.

This important story has many well-known actors working in it, like Blake Lively, Brandon Sklenar, Jenny Slate, Justin Baldoni, Kevin McKidd, and Hasan Minhaj.

The movie cost $25 million to make, but it has earned way more! It made 13.8 times its making cost, so it’s a big win. In Nigeria, it also started strong, making N8.7 million on its first weekend, then grew 10% in the next weekend to N9.6 million.

This year, Hollywood movies have earned N2.32 billion in Nigeria, which is almost half, 49.95%, of the market’s money from movies.

Around the world, “It Ends With Us” is also doing great! It made $80 million everywhere during its first weekend, even better than another movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, which had been out for three weeks at that time.

  • So far, this movie has made $120 million in the U.S. and another $121 million in other countries, making its total earnings about $242 million. With this amazing pace, it should go past $250 million very soon!
  • “It Ends With Us” has made more money than other movies like “The Girl on the Train” ($173 million), “Where the Crawdads Sing” ($145 million), and “Crazy Rich Asians” ($237 million), which are all also about powerful stories by women.
  • But, it has some strong competition coming from big romance hits like “Twilight,” which made over $400 million, and “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which made nearly $570 million from people all over the world.
