Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including governorship aspirants in Kwara North Senatorial District, have agreed to work in unison to enable the zone’s ambition of producing the next governor of the state.
Stakeholders and governorship aspirants reached the agreement at a meeting held at the Ilorin residence of a prominent Kwara North leader, Senator Mohammed Ahmed.
In a statement issued at the end of the meeting, which was attended by APC stakeholders in the five local government areas of Kwara North Senatorial District, the participants requested the convener to reach out to other groups involved in the same mission for effective coordination, positive realization and smooth updating of the main objective.
The meeting, according to the statement signed by Senator Mohammed Ahmed, acknowledged the efforts of the monarchs, members of the Kwara North Youth Forum and the Kwara North Council of Elders in relation to the demand that the area be granted the governorship in 2027.
Stakeholders advised all aspirants in the district to carry out their pre-campaign activities with a sense of unity of purpose and ensure that they are free from rancor and defamation.
The statement also states that all candidates committed to working together to realize the district’s goal of producing the next governor of the state.
“The meeting agreed to establish an inclusive committee that would consolidate the activities of the various groups involved in the governorship aspiration, towards achieving the objectives with ease.
“The meeting acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of both Kwara State and the Federal Government in addressing the recent attacks by armed bandits and kidnappings that took place in some parts of Kwara North and South Senatorial Districts,” the statement stated.
