US President Donald Trump has accused the South African government of ignoring what he describes as serious human rights abuses against Afrikaners and other white minority groups, alleging that attacks on white farmers and confiscations of their land have continued unchecked.
In a post on X on Friday, Trump said the United States skipped the G20 summit in South Africa because Washington believes the host country has not addressed these concerns.
He also criticized the mainstream American media for what he sees as a lack of attention to the issue.
According to the president, tensions rose at the end of the summit when South Africa refused to transfer the G20 presidency to a senior US embassy official who was present at the closing ceremony.
He stated that as a result, South Africa will not be invited to the 2026 G20 summit scheduled for Miami, Florida.
Trump added that the United States will immediately suspend payments and financial assistance to South Africa, arguing that the country has demonstrated that it is unfit for membership in key international platforms.
He wrote: “The United States did not attend the G20 in South Africa because the South African government refuses to recognize or address the horrific human rights abuses suffered by Afrikaners and other descendants of Dutch, French and German settlers.

“To put it more clearly, they are killing white people and randomly allowing their farms to be taken away. That is why all the liars and pretenders in the radical left media are going out of business! At the conclusion of the G20, South Africa refused to hand over the G20 presidency to a senior representative of our United States. Embassy, those who attended to the Closing Ceremony.
“Therefore, under my instructions, South Africa will NOT receive an invitation to the 2026 G20, which will be held in the great city of Miami, Florida, next year. South Africa has shown the world that it is not a country worthy of membership anywhere, and we are suspending all payments and subsidies to them, effective immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
