The people of Kwara North Senatorial District in Kwara State, especially the youth, have been urged to support the political aspirations of Dr. Mahmood Umar in 2027.
There are strong indications that Dr. Mahmood Umar aspires to contest for the Kwara North Senatorial District senatorial ticket in the 2027 general elections.
The call was made by Abdul Toro, a resident of Toro LGA, Bauchi State, in a statement he made available to journalists in Bauchi on Monday.
He wrote: “I would like to take this opportunity to make a special appeal to the youths and all citizens of Kwara North Senatorial District, urging them to consider and support Dr. Mahmood as their candidate in the upcoming 2027 elections for the 11th Senate.”
According to him, “Dr. Mahmood Umar has a strong background and diverse experiences that make him a commendable choice for this position. A notable quality that I admire in Dr. Mahmood is his willingness to listen to people, regardless of their status, which demonstrates his commitment to understanding the needs of his constituents.”
Abdul Toro added: “Although I am not a resident of Kwara State, I have been impressed by the charitable initiatives and philanthropic services that Mahmood Umar has provided to my local government area, Toro LGA, where he resides.”
“He has made significant contributions to the lives of many, even those outside his immediate constituency. I am confident that if Dr. Mahmood Umar is entrusted with the mandate to serve the Kwara North Senatorial District, he will certainly continue to implement positive changes that will benefit the region,” he added.
He further stated that: “To the best of my knowledge, Dr. Mahmood Umar has consistently maintained an impeccable reputation in Toro LGA. He prioritizes the interests of his community over personal gain.”
“I encourage citizens of Kwara North Senatorial District to consider sending a delegation to Toro LGA for an assessment of his character and contributions. I am sure they will return with ideas that affirm their pride in having such an exemplary representative of Kwara State,” he stressed.
According to him, “Words alone are not enough to capture the essence of Dr. Mahmood Umar, whom I consider a distinguished leader. The citizens of Toro LGA, recognizing his generosity and philanthropic efforts, have previously advocated for him to receive a title from our Emir. His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umaru Adamu, readily acknowledged this request, granting him the title of “Sodangin Toro, of the Emirates of Toro.”
He stressed that “these endorsements reflect the great respect that the people of Toro LGA have for Dr. Mahmood. I implore the citizens of Kwara North Senatorial District to think critically and not allow such a capable individual to miss the opportunity to lead.”
He added that “if Dr. Mahmood has represented our interests so effectively in Toro LGA, I can only imagine the impact he would have on a broader scale if elected to serve in the Kwara North senatorial district.”
Abdul Toro added that “Dr Mahmood is a credible candidate for the Kwara North Senatorial District, who shows remarkable respect for people of all backgrounds, regardless of language or religion. He is gifted with the wisdom to lead by example and serve diligently.”
He concluded: “As I conclude this message, I fervently appeal to the citizens of Kwara North to turn out in large numbers to vote for Dr. Mahmood who is set to represent the Kwara North Senatorial District in the upcoming 2027 elections.”
