“We are calling a NEC meeting that will be expelled. It is unconstitutional that belongs to two political parties at the same time,” said Arabambi.

He added that the National Executive Council would recommend the expulsion of OBI, which would be formally ratified in the party convention.

Arabambi also criticized the role of OBI in the rise of the party, saying that the opposition leader did not make the Labor Party but vice versa.

“Obi did not make the Labor Party; the Labor Party made Peter Obi. It was just a possibility of circumstance due to #Endsars protests and the failures of the past administrations. The Nigerians were simply tired,” he said.

He accused Obi of authoritarian tendencies, stating: “If you can fight against the party members to do their will, then it is not fit to direct the party.”

The Labor Party had issued a 48 -hour ultimatum to OBI, demanding that he formally renounce his membership for his participation in the coalition.

Obiora Ifoh, a party spokeswoman, described the members of the coalition as “opportunistic politicians interested in relating in the circle of power.”

However, Peter Obi has clarified that he is still a member of the Labor Party and has not defected the ADC.

According to him, his participation in the coalition is part of a broader effort to build an united opposition front before the 2027 general elections.
