The former president of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, encouraged the presidency and councilor candidates who participate in the local government elections of the state of Lagos scheduled for July 12, 2025, to be brave and actively promote the party to the electorate.
He proclaimed that the PDP is very alive and is a better option than the ruler Congress of all progressives (APC) in the state.
George made these comments on Wednesday during the flag's presentation ceremony for party candidates, which took place in his office in Ikoyi.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including former vice governor of the state of Lagos, Senator Kofoworola Bucknor-Okerele, Captain Tunji Shelle (RTD.), Chief onikpo Oshodi, Mrs. Roli Bode George, Nike Coker, member of the national trade, and others.
He assured members that the current crisis within the PDP will be resolved at the end of the month.
The head of PDP emphasized that the decision of the party to present candidates for the next council surveys dissipates rumors effectively that they suggest that the party is missing, labeling such statements as irresponsible.
George, while describing PDP as Iroko, with survival instincts, said he was sympathizing with some governors and members of the party “jumping the ship”, noting that “what happened in the state of Yobe last Sunday showed the beginning of the end of the end of the APC.”
This was just when it consulted the benefits that the APC government had made favor of Nigerians who justified recognition, and points out that millions of Nigerians were suffering under the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The essence of today's event is to convince the people of Lagos states that the rumors that PDP is dead is an irresponsible statement that anyone can say.
“What the APC government has done to favor Nigerians who guarantees recognition, millions of Nigerians are suffering under the APC government,” he said.
Speaking more, Chief George urged the presidency candidates and the councilor to campaign about the achievements of the PDP when he was in the government, and what the party had for the electorate if he voted in office, saying that they should also highlight the defects of the ruling APC who had turned the Nigerians into miserable people.
However, he claimed that the trend of the Electoral Commission of the State of Lagos (LASIEC) want to manipulate the electoral results, since they were the members of the commission appointed by the state government.
“Be braver and genuinely sufficiently campaigning for people, convince the electorate about the good plans that the PDP has for them if they vote in office.
“If things manipulate, let the vibration reach the state of lakes. All of you who dispute come to tell people what they will do and show you the mediocre administration that the APC is leading,” he said.
Presenting the flags of the party to the candidates, the president of the Chapter of the State of Lagos of PDP, Hon. Philip Aivoji, represented by the vice president, Lagos West, head of Domingo Olaifa, accompanied by the legal advisor of the party, South West, Dr. Amos Fawole, said that the main opposition party and its candidates had a better opportunity to win the elections, “because the membership of APC It is in disorder. “
According to him, the July 12 elections are won, saying that all the candidates and party members need to do to ensure victory now that APC was no longer attractive and sellable was working together in Unity and advancing.
“The choice is won, all we must do is work for our success in the unit. In the unit we can achieve our purpose. APC is no longer attractive to the electorate, it cannot be sold,” Aivoji said.
