A trial court in the Rumuepirikom community in the Obio Akpor local government area of Rivers State has detained a young woman identified as Evelyn Dodo for alleged theft.
The suspect was said to have stolen fabrics worth 700,000 naira from a hairdresser in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt.
According to the charge read in court, the suspect who had been successful in the first operation was caught in his second attempt to steal more items.
Dodo hails from and resides in Delta State.
The court suspended the session on August 11, 12 and 17, 2021 for the mention and possible application of the suspect’s bail.
In a related development, One Vivian Onuju and her son Best Onuju have been tried before a Choba community magistrate court in the Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State on three counts of assault, injury to a police officer and riot. of public peace.
On counts one and three, it is alleged that Vivian inflicted harm on Constance Omerunna and acted in a way that could disturb the public within the premises of a police station in the community of Rumuolumeni on August 1, 2021.
On counts two and three, Best Onuju is alleged to have inflicted injuries on a police officer who went so far as to arrest his father at his apartment within the area and acted in a manner capable of bridging public peace in the area. same date.
While the court granted Vivian bail, in the amount of N300,000, Best was held until the next adjourned date, August 5, for his consideration of bail.
