Mokwa Flood: Monarch asks Niger community to fumigation

Must Read

The boss of the Mokwa village (Ndalile de Mokwa), Alhaji Muhammed Aliyu, has requested urgent fumigation in the area to prevent outbreaks of epidemic diseases in the community.

He made the call when he received the National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) in the state of Niger in a sympathy visit in his palace after a devastating flood that charged more than 200 lives and displaced many others.

The head of the Mokwa village said that the call to fumigation has become an imperative after the discovery of some decomposition bodies in different parts of the community.

“If nothing urgent is done, it is able to cause a great health disaster,” he said.

He praised the National Council of Women's Societies for providing vital support to flood victims, particularly women and children through their appropriate donations.

According to him, the main problem was the strong smell that emanates from the area, indicating the presence of decomposition bodies under debris.

The Council also visited the internal displaced camp (internal displaced) where they donated relief items that include clothing, food and dressing articles to the victims of floods.

The president of NCWS, Mrs. Justina Yakubu expressed sympathy for the families of which they lost their lives and the affected people.

“We pray for God to take care of orphans and widows and give them open doors so that they can rebuild their homes and establish themselves,” he said.

Malam Abubakar Ibrahim, who received the articles on behalf of the victims, thanked NCWS for the demonstration of concern and support for the victims of the flood.

He expressed gratitude to the council for the gift to the victims, noting that the smiles on their faces reflected their joy and appreciation.

One of the victims, Felicia Abba, thanked NCWS for the visit and support of the gifts they were given.
