The management of Deeper Life Secondary School has suspended the principal of the school in Akwa Ibom State, Solomon Ndidi, for the alleged sexual abuse of one of the students.

The distraught mother of Deeper Life High School third-year student Idoro near Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, Deborah Okezie, in a Facebook video that went viral on social media platforms, alleged that her son was dead from hungry and also abused by some seniors from the school. .

According to her, she went to school sometimes last month and saw that her son, once a boisterous, healthy-looking guy, was completely emaciated.

She stated that after pressuring him, he alleged that the school principal transferred him to the older pupils’ shelter to wet the bed, revealing that the older students took the opportunity to abuse him by pushing their hands and legs into his anus even when they promised to kill him if he ever reports the incident to the headmaster or his mother.

Moving on, he said that when he reported his findings to the director, he promised to transfer the 11-year-old boy back to the youth hostel, but did not do so.

Apparently disturbed by the Facebook post, the state government immediately jumped into action and established an investigation team to unravel the alleged abuse.

Governor Udom Emmanuel, who ordered State Education Commissioner Dr. Enobong Mboho to investigate the alleged abuse, promised that he would leave no stone unturned to get to the root of the alleged cowardly act.

Also stung by the unpleasant development, the school’s leadership suspended the school’s principal, Solomon Ndidi, to allow an undeterred investigation into the matter, ensuring that no one found guilty would be spared.

The statement read: “We want to assure the general public that investigations into the case have begun and that no culprit, whether staff or students, will be spared if found guilty at the end of the exercise. As an interim measure and to underscore the seriousness we attach to superior values of supervision, the school principal has been summarily suspended even as further investigations continue.

“We firmly assure the insightful public that the overall outcome of the investigations will be made known and that appropriate disciplinary measures will be imposed on all those guilty of this unfortunate act which undoubtedly threatens to throw unnecessary slander on a unique institution that has been a shining example throughout the years. “
