The Governor of the State of Plateau, Caleb Mutfwang, has inaugurated an economic advisory council of 16 members to review the policies in the state and introduce new ones that would boost the economy of the State on the path of prosperity.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration in the Government House of Little Ray Field, Mutfwang said that the members of the Plateau Economic Advisory Council were carefully selected to add value to the administration, and added that the main work of the Council is to advise on how to convert the opportunities into prosperity.

According to him, according to the resources available in the field, Plateau State must not be classified among the poorest states of Nigeria and is somewhere in the hierarchical order in the poverty index simply because it has not taken advantage of its potentials and opportunities.
“We must turn the advantages that God has given us to a wealth for our people. Some of the dimensions of our crisis, even the insurgency, I am sure, will be addressed when we will prosper economically. In the root of this is poverty,” he said.
He stressed that the grazing reserve in the state that has been under the occupation of Bandit for 15 to 20 years has been claimed, while the bandits have been substantially defeated, and added that the reservation has been claimed to establish ranches.
“However, some people came to the air attacking us, saying that we want to bring to Ruga. Simply ask questions and get answers. According to the National Plan for the Transformation of the cattle, there is no rough, nor a single mention. There is no place in Nigeria where you can better raise livestock than on the plateau.
“Now, the cattle that has been causing insecurity? They only give two liters of milk. When we create our ranches, will you see cows producing 20 liters or more. Should we continue with two liters?
Therefore, the governor commissioned the Council to study the environment, identify areas of priority and make recommendations on where the government must focus to attract investments and advise the government on how to position the people of the plateau so that they benefit from an increase in economic activities.
