Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to economic transformation and the renewal of infrastructure, announcing new industrial projects and road interventions designed to stimulate growth and create jobs throughout the State.
This is just when the governor asked the members of the Congress of all progressives (APC) throughout the state to close ranges, intensify the mobilization and study more supporters in preparation for the general elections of 2027.
Speaking at a meeting of interested parties of the Congress of all progressives (APC) in Akure on Friday, August 29, 2025, the governor revealed that the State had signed investment agreements for the establishment of a cement factory, a fertilizer plant and a petrochemical industry.
According to him, these projects will not only strengthen the industrial base of the State, but will also provide employment opportunities for thousands of residents.

He said: “We are deliberate in our approach to renew the economy. These industries are strategic because they will increase our income base, provide jobs and improve the competitiveness of the State of Ondo.
“At the same time, we are committed to completing all the current infrastructure projects, including those inherited from the previous administrations.
“I want to assure our people that all our current infrastructure projects are completed, including those inherited by this administration,”.
The governor also revealed plans to assume the responsibility of the selected federal roads, and stressed that improving the road infrastructure was fundamental for economic development.
He listed the Ikare-Akoko, Idanre-Akure and Okitipupupa-Igbokoda projects between ongoing interventions while promising additional action on other critical corridors.
By emphasizing the government, Aiyedatiwa also charged the APC members who strengthen the base mobilization online with the renewed hope initiative of President Bola Tinubu, which is directed to the registration of at least 1,000 new members per neighborhood.
Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the APC must continue to be the meeting point for progressive governance and sustainable development in Nigeria, noting that President Bola Tinubu had already laid a solid basis for economic recovery, the renewal of infrastructure and social investment.
Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the task ahead requires the unity of purpose within the party and said: “We cannot afford to divide in this critical moment. The APC is the good governance vehicle, and our responsibility as loyal members is to strengthen the structure, deepen the mobilization and ensure that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu continues to receive support over, especially from the state of Ondo.
“This is our party, and it is our collective responsibility to strengthen it. The renewed hope initiative has been structured to build the party from the bases, and our goal is nothing less than a thousand new members per neighborhood.
“We must mobilize, we must organize, and we must be consistent in our commitments. The regular meetings of the interested parties such as this are destined to stay united, informed and ready for the future,” said the governor.
Also speaking, the state president of APC, Eng. Inside Adetimehin also praised Aiyedatiwa for calling the meeting and for maintaining regular interaction with the interested party of the party.
He emphasized the importance of reconnecting with the basis to consolidate the force of the party throughout the State, saying that the survival and dominance of the APC depend largely on the commitment of its members at the neighborhood level and local government.
“We must all return to our local neighborhoods and governments and redouble our efforts. This is our party, and there is no other part for us apart from the APC.
“Unity and commitment in the bases are critical if we want to maintain our domain. Come cry, shine, our identity remains APC, and we must carry that banner with pride,” said Adetimehin.
Also speaking, the president of the State Board of Universal Basic Education (Subeb), RT. Excmo Victor Olabimtan reaffirmed that the APC remained united and indivisible in its constituency.
“In our area, the APC is one. There are no factions, or divisions. We are solidly behind the governor and the leadership of the party, and we will continue working on the unit to ensure that our force feels throughout the state,” said Olabimtan.
For his part, Director of Corporate Services of the Delta del Niger Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. IFEDAYO AbeGunde, praised the performance of Governor Aiyedatiwa, describing his development advances as visible in the 18 areas of the state of the local government.
“Mr. Governor, he has done well and is still going well. His development initiatives can be seen throughout the state. The only thing left is to encourage him to do even more. While the last presidential election was successful, we believe that with more work and a greater mobilization, the APC can achieve an even higher margin of victory in 2027,” Abegunde said.
The meeting was attended by the main political leaders, including the Vice Governor, Dr. Olayide Adeami; former vice governor, Alhaji Laisi Oluboyo; President of the Ondo State Assembly, RT. Excmo Olamide Oladiji, Secretary of the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, among other prominent stakeholders.
