Nigerian rapper Ice Prince has dismissed speculation that his recent weight loss was caused by illness or drug use.
The rapper, known for hits like Oleku, faced a barrage of backlash on social media after photos of his slimmer physique emerged, with some fans expressing concern about his health while others accused him of substance abuse.
Addressing the rumors in a post on X, the 38-year-old artist explained that his transformation was the result of healthier decisions, not health issues.
“God is so good in my life… Short story!! I was literally ready to explode. No illness (bless God), just bad habits and choices. But then Chopstix and Dami said, ‘Let’s lose the ice in our belly,’ and that really triggered something in my brain that triggered me,” he wrote.
Ice Prince revealed that his childhood friend, music producer Chopstix, played a key role in his fitness journey, visiting his house every night for an hour-long walk after dinner.
“My brother Chopstix started coming to my house every day after dinner and we both walked around my farm for an hour…our conversations during those walks are priceless to me, like anything else we’ve talked about since we were kids,” he added.
The rapper, who turns 39 on October 30, announced plans to release new music to commemorate his birthday.
“It’s my birthday on October 30th and I’ll be releasing new music in my new body. Next year, with a full chest lol. But keep in mind, if nature didn’t make it, don’t take it. Health is wealth! See you in three days,” he wrote.
