The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Dis, will officially launch the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, FCT, Abuja.
This was contained in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday by the spokesperson of the Force, CSP Ani Iniedu.
According to the statement, “the initiative is part of the Nigerian Police Force’s ongoing efforts to strengthen technology-driven policing, improve communication and improve operational efficiency across the Force.

He added that the NPF Vigilant application was designed to support better engagement, information sharing and communication between the police and the public, while the MTN CUG network would provide a dedicated communication platform to facilitate smooth and efficient communication between Force personnel.
The statement further explained that the launch underscored the commitment of the Inspector General of Police to leverage modern technology and strategic partnerships to enhance policing, strengthen internal coordination and improve service delivery to Nigerians.
He reaffirmed that the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to leveraging technology, innovation and strategic partnerships to strengthen policing, improve operational effectiveness and provide Nigerians with more responsive, efficient and people-centred security services.
