Nvidia, American Multinational Technology Company, has revealed plans to resume sales of its artificial intelligence chips (AI) H20 to China, marking a significant step since the company's CEO, Jensen Huang, visits Beijing after meeting the president of the United States, Donald Trump.
The company revealed that it is currently seeking the approval of the United States government to resume exports from High Performance H20 graphics processing units (GPU) to China, and expects licenses to be granted soon.
“The United States government has assured Nvidia to be awarded the licenses, and Nvidia hopes to start deliveries soon,” said the technological giant in a statement.
Nvidia AI chips have been at the US export restrictions center aimed at limiting China's access to advanced technologies about national security concerns. The firm previously stated that the curbs could reduce their income up to $ 15 billion.

Despite the challenges, Nvidia has introduced a new chips model specifically designed to meet the regulatory requirements of the United States for the Chinese market.
Huang, who is in China for a supply chain exhibition, told CCTV of the Chinese state media that the country remains a vital market. “The Chinese market is massive, dynamic and highly innovative. It is the home of many AI researchers, so it is crucial that US companies are firmly rooted here,” he said.
His trip comes when Nvidia faces a tough competition from local players like Huawei. Even so, many Chinese companies continue to depend on Nvidia chips due to their patented, CUDA computer platform, which remains a dominant force in the development of AI.
In the United States, Huang's visit has caught political attention. A bipartisan group of senators recently urged him to avoid committing to any Chinese entity linked to military or intelligence operations, or those that appear in the list of restricted exports in the United States.
The planned resumption of H20 Chips sales coincides with a broader thaw in technological relationships between the United States and China. China has relaxed export controls in rare earth materials, while the United States has allowed certain chips design software services to resume in the Chinese market.
The White House has not yet commented on Nvidia's announcement.
