The outstanding Muslim organizations have paid brilliant tributes to former President Muhammadu Buhari and Awujale de Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Koyode Adetona, who died on Sunday, urging the Nigerians to reflect on their shocking lives and their lasting legacies.
In statements signed by the president of the Muslim Ummah of the southwest of Nigeria (Muswen), Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo and his executive secretary, Professor Muslih Tayo Yahya, the organization described the deceased leaders such as Devotos Muslims and main statesmen.
Muswen said the Buhari administration was defined by integrity, simplicity and unwavering commitment to unity, anti -corruption and national development.
He asked President Bola Tinubu to immortalize Buhari by appointing a significant national infrastructure in his honor and urged the Nigerians to adopt the values of unity, integrity and selfless service of the late leader.
The group also honored the deceased Oba Adetona, describing it as a reformist monarch that successfully combined the Yoruba tradition with Islamic values.
As president of the Muslim Council of the State of Ogun and leader of Muslim obas in Yorubalandia, Oba Adetona was praised to advocate for religious rights for traditional rulers, efforts that culminated in the historical laws of obas and chiefs of the state Ogun (2021), affirming the burial rites in accordance with the personal faith.
Muswen extended condolences to the families of deceased leaders and prayed for their admission to Jannatul Firdaus, urging the nation to continue praying for peace and progress.
Similarly, the National Council of Muslim Youth Organizations (Nacomio) expressed a deep pain for deaths, describing them as a national tragedy that “sent shock waves throughout the country.”
In a statement by its national president, Malam Sani Suleiman Maigoro, and the National Secretary, Alhaji Moshers Akintola, Nacomio praised Buhari as an unconditional of Nigerian policy whose devotion to the public service shaped the post -colonial trajectory of the country.
The organization described its legacy as a guide light for future generations.
Oba Adetona was celebrated by Nacomio as a monarch of exceptional wisdom and dignity, whose 65-year-old reign brought significant development to Ijebu -ode and beyond, obtaining generalized admiration in the state of Ogun Ogun.
Also crying the death of the venerated monarch, the Muslim Council of the State of Ogun (WTO) described Oba Adetona, its general president, as a unifying figure known for wisdom, integrity and dedication unwavering to the well -being of his people.
In a statement signed by the secretary general of the WTO, Alhaji Kamal'deen Akintunde, the Council recalled the monarch's commitment to interreligious harmony and peaceful coexistence.
“Beyond its spiritual and cultural roles, Oba Adetona was recognized for promoting socioeconomic progress in Ijebuland through initiatives in education, medical care, infrastructure and economic development.
“His contributions earned him the prestigious national honor of the Great Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), underlining his stature as a national icon,” the Council said.
He requested divine guidance in the transition process and prayed for a successor that will be preserved and developed on the remarkable Legacy of Oba Adetona.
